Introduction and Mission
Filmbabe stands at the forefront of social impact, especially in Black communities. Through education and skill building, Filmbabe empowers young women to explore the exciting world of media by developing filmmaking and media skills while expanding their scope of professional possibilities. Filmbabe is committed to developing filmmaking and media skills and expanding professional opportunities for these young talents.
A testament to their dedication is the collaborative effort behind the Nurture the Narrative podcast. This project, co-curated by Filmbabe and partners like the Micheaux Award & Film Lab and the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation, shines a spotlight on students’ talent and hard work at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. This audio series, a product of a half-day lab-intensive, delves into various topics, from campus life to community experiences in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The organization meets students where they are, offering in-person and hands-on workshops that introduce young women to the media industry and help them amplify their voices through visual media. Filmbabe's goals are threefold:
Educate and inspire the next generation to create and work within the media industry.

Establish itself as an esteemed and impactful media training organization for teenagers across Arkansas.
